frequently asked questions

Q -  Are the runs through the course timed?
A -  No, however if the officials feel a participant is using up an unfair amount of time for others to compete, that person's run may be stopped and points tallied.

Q - How will we know what the "obstacles" are and how many points they are worth?
A - The point awarding objects will be clearly marked out before the competition. There may be different colors on them but they will all be worth the same number of points.

Q - How many runs will each participant get throughout the day?
A - Weather permitting we hope the ensure one run for each class signed up for. If time permits there will be additional runs added. First runs through may be considered "qualifying runs" for additional runs.

Q - What is the $50 entry fee needed for?
A - There are expenses involved that the hosting club needs to be reimbursed for. Potential "profit" may be used toward a donation to the Minnesota 4 Wheel Drive Association.

Q - How many "mnroc" events have been held so far?
A - None! 2005 will be the first official event. As is the case with many first time endeavors there are bound to be "hiccups". We hope the competitors will be forgiving and helpful to making future events better and better.

Q - Why must the spotter "be in the vehicle during travel through the course"?
A - Safety most of all. It's really tough to run over your spotter if they are in the vehicle with you. Also, we want to keep this a "drivers event". It is a lot harder to drive through the course with a spotter inside, versus outside the vehicle.
